Event Installer - Prep and Production Team
*Hiring for both Part Time and Full Time

Joe Mineo Creative is looking for a hardworking, self-motivator that can assist in the preparation of and execution of events. This is a full-time position. The Event Installer is responsible for loading and unloading event décor product, and installing and removing the event décor.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Loads and unloads props, furniture, floral products and other event decor onto vehicles and trucks for delivery to clients and venues.

  • Packs and unpacks props, furniture, floral products and other event decor.

  • Prepares, assembles, installs and uninstalls furniture, fabric backdrops, Chuppahs, and other room décor throughout the event venue. May install products in entryways, on ceilings, floors, walls and columns.

  • Returns props, furniture, floral products and other event décor to appropriate locations for storage.

  • Works carefully to minimize damage and breakage of product and floral.

  • Clean work spaces and collect debris while installing and removing product to ensure venue is left clean and damage free.

  • Follows all safety guidelines according to company policies and procedures.
     

Requirements:

  • Up to 1 year of event set-up experience preferred.

  • Ability to understand, read and speak English.

  • Ability to interpret pull sheets.

  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

  • Ability to handle glass and fragile items safely.

  • Good verbal communication skills to communicate successfully with the team.

  • Ability to multitask and take direction.

  • Good knowledge and ability to use tools and equipment that may include: hammer, screwdriver, hand drill, tape measure, dollies, lifts, and 8 foot and 12 foot ladders.

  • Ability to work long shifts and work flexible schedules to include evenings and weekends.

  • Ability to travel locally and outside the city and state.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • Must be 18 years old or older.

Event Designer

Joe Mineo Creative is a nationally recognized and award-winning event design company. With every corporate event, wedding, and private party we create, plan, or manage, our team provides clients with a unique design, exceptional service, and a sophisticated presentation.


We are hiring a creative, organized, thoughtful, and self-motivated design assistant who will directly with our Creative Director to assist with the design and implementation of events. Position reports directly to our Creative Director for design and to our COO for event execution. This is a full-time position. Pay is based on experience and ambition.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Takes the lead on special projects from conception to completion for Creative Director.

  • Participates in collaboration and brainstorming sessions with Creative Director to conceptualize event designs.

  • Supports Creative Director with sourcing new items through purchasing.

  • Establishes cooperative working relationships with all departments of Joe Mineo Creative.

  • Design floral concepts and other event design elements per client specifications and budget.

  • Determines floral and other design elements needed to create client proto types.

  • Works with all departments to design events and help lead them to execution.

  • Participates in client proto type meetings and assists with execution of design.

  • Creates the appropriate documentation of all design and floral elements for each event.

  • Communicates with COO and Production Manager on all design details and needs in advance of events.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in event and floral design and construction, particularly in an event décor company.

  • Knowledge of event venues, design trends and style.

  • Knowledge of event design, construction, art fabrication and lighting.

  • Able to efficiently and safely use floral knives, clippers and other light tools.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Sound math skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.

  • Excellent attention to detail, highly organized and good follow-up skills.

  • Must be able to work weekends.
