Served With Style - Edition 19

EDITION 19: PCMA FOOD STATIONS

For our third and final Served With Style edition about our work with The Event Group on the closing night party for the PCMA Conference 2019 held in Heinz Stadium Pittsburgh, PA, we will deliver a bit more detail about the creative food displays.

Pittsburgh centric culinary offerings (think perogies), topped the list of goals that event planner Sheila Weiner, owner of The Event Group challenged us to design. It was important that the guests, event professionals themselves, felt that they were being treated to something special.

Illustrated here are a few of the unique, collaborative ideas that came to life at the event.

Pittsburgh’s Poppin was color block on pop! The self-serve popcorn stations throughout the event’s floorplan had to be identical, but made to match the color blocking of its respective space. Graphic design was the key to making the idea – “POP!”

Taking the existing sports stadium food service counters from the usual to the unique took some brain power. And some electric too! We created facades of the color block light panels to disguise the wood grain counter fronts. This design treatment not only made the color blocking design strong from room to room, but made the food service feel less like an assembly line and more like an experience.

Words that describe the host city were spoken loud and clear at every bar, each in their own color. This was an effective way to continue the color story, add drama, and communicate how amazing the city of Pittsburgh is to all the event guests.

The self serve decadent pink themed desserts by Bella Christy and Li Z were on a circular display at the end of each event space section. The boutique style shelving made the spread feel like a shopping spree of endless deliciousness!
