Served With Style - Edition 13

EDITION 13: PASS THE HORS D'OURVES

One of my favorite things to design for a cocktail hour is a strolling charcuterie board. In today’s Served with Style edition, we share with you how we designed one using every day kitchen cutting boards. After adding a few design elements, it becomes a very “guest friendly” experience.

A challenge for guests attending cocktail hour events is when they have to juggle a cocktail, hors d’oeuvre, or perhaps a purse. Understanding that obstacle, our design started with a wooden door hanger that we sourced at a local craft store.

Cutting out a small notch allows a wine glass to be able to hang easily. If you prefer a vodka tonic, another small acrylic box can be added so you could easily set your drink down.

Compartments were also created to hold cocktail napkins and small plates. This makes the cocktailing experience much more enjoyable … put down your drink, pick up a plate, make your selections, grab your cocktail, and you’re off!
