Fall Gathering at Joe and Gary’s Home

As winter approaches, I am looking back to just a few weeks ago when I hosted my annual fall dinner gathering. I decide each year who I would like to treat to a special meal at my home. Sometimes it is dear friends, sometimes close family, last year my husband Gary and I hosted my staff. This year I wanted to invite some of my local clients with whom I have enjoyed a long and successful history of creating events with. Invites were casual, just a text sent between friends, but the plan for the table and the five course meal were anything but.

A small clear span tent was erected in the yard so that guests could stay warm and cozy

while still enjoying the beauty of the fall foliage beneath the mature trees that surround

the property.

The structure of our own arbor tables were adorned with whimsical brass figures of fantasy woodland creatures. A rabbit with a monocle, a sleeping fox and a mighty stag were part of the magical scene. The florals were a bold and bright mix of Roses, Lisianthus, Ranunculus, Pepper Berry, Lilies, Ornamental Cabbage, and Smilax Vine which glowed beautifully in the flickering candle light.

The dishes I chose were different for each course and kept the guest’s interest peeked as each delectable offering was butlered to the table. Crystal's Catering provided the meal which was a Hand- made Pan Fried Gnocchi, Tableside Caesar Salad, Sauteed Lake Erie Walleye, Braised Short Rib, and an Apple Gallette paired with local Handles Vanilla Ice Cream.

Our often unpredictable autumn weather was acting up a bit but the heaters and the good company kept the tent warm. The night was a grand success ! I hope that my guests left with a feeling of just how important they are to me.
